Spinning SP
I got an AMAZING package from my spinning SP today. I opened up the box to find this Mango Moon bag:
Which will be an awesome knitting bag as it has a zipper and not velcro. It also has that summer-y feel. Inside were lots of little goodies wrapped in tissue.
Included were Swedish cookies, a box of lemon candies, Norwegian chocolate (!), a little troll statue, two different kinds of roving, and some beautiful handspun that my pal spun for me! In fact my pal also traveled to some Scandinavian country just to pick up yummy treats for me! Next time you can just send me a plane ticket, pal. ;)
The dark roving is "Black Diamond" from SWS - I'm not quite sure what that means but it's very shiny. And the other roving, although unidentified, is beautiful as well!
I know you're waiting for a closeup of that handspun...
Gorgeous!
And for a little more about what I've been doing, here's a picture of me knitting at the Esplanade on the 4th:

I can't remember - black diamond is either bamboo or soysilk....I'm pretty sure it's bamboo. In any event, it's so silky and yummy to the touch; I got to nuzzle it at one of my LYSs (but I'd already spent too much!) Great pal goodies!!!!
This year it was cool enough for you to knit on the Esplanade! Usually it's more like it was today (90s - but even that might not stop the knitting, I don't know!)
ooh... that handpun is so pretty - what are you going to do with it?
aaaw you didnt want to post the picture Andreas took of you knitting in the pouring rain on the esplanade, mere hours after the sunny one was taken.... just for comparison of our lovely boston weather it would be funny
In response...
Yes, it was pretty cool, but I probably would have knit anyway. I knit even after it started raining.
I shall knit socks with it, SP9, what did you expect? ;)
And no, Cassandra, that is a horrible picture of me! Maybe I will think about putting a smiley over my face and posting it, but I think not. ;)
Love the bag! Nice handspun and goodies!
I'm so happy that you liked everything!
Alyson was correct about the Black Diamond - it's a bamboo/carbon fiber. How that works exactly, well, I don't know, but it's pretty scrumptious. I've been fondling that ever since she first got it in, so I split the remainder of it and kept some for me too :)
The other fiber - well, as I understand it, the GF on the tag stands for Grafton Fibers. Admittedly, it's been around for at least a couple of years, but I thought it was perfect for you, so I made the sacrifice and gave it up ;)
As for the goodies, I didn't FLY to Norway, I walked there...
And you'll know when you've found me, since I might have recently posted some pics of your handspun...including the "before" picture...
What an awsome package! Sooooo, you like norwegian chocolate, huh... Because that is nice to know for a certain sock pal;) Dropping hints about your favourite might work.
can anyone truly look good if they've been rained on for over 1 hour? no.
(well ok supermodels are exceptions, but they get airbrushed to look good)
oh and yeah i used the whole scrap ball of yarn for that little red circle - but its almost 6in in diameter so its not puny
Great package! Lots of blue, lots of fluff, wonderful.
You look like you're having a great sock knitting experience in that picture! The Esplanade is a little too crowded for me on the 4th, but I bet bringing some knitting helps a lot. People tend to give people with pointy objects extra space, in my experience.
Wow, your SP has you down! Beautiful handspun...
So jealous! And prime spot right across from MIT too!
LOVE the color of the socks you're knitting!
:)

Tag - you're it! Let's see your sock drawer. I can't wait.

I know you usually have better things to do than memes, but when the sock drawer one came up, I couldn't resist. Because I'd really love to see your sock drawer!
So: consider yourself tagged!
Amen to the zipper instead of velcro. I made the velcro mistake on a bag a while ago and all my knitting is forever stuck to it. Lucky girl.
