Knitting and Skating
It was a very knitful weekend.
Friday night I settled in on the couch for some quality knitting time with my iPhone and a 42 row chart. While I love complicated (secret!) socks, I do crave something a little more boring sometimes.
Saturday morning I got past the chart portion and took the remainder of the sock with me to a ball winding party with one of my knitting groups. Since most of us bought some yarn on the yarn crawl a few weeks ago, it needed to be wound. I just stopped by to chat and eat some snacks on my way to...
Rat City Rollergirls! With my other knitting group, of course. We sat, we knitted, and we watched girls in short skirts slam each other around on skates. I finished my sock and switched to my backup project - the poor Blue Moon Cast On socks that have been fairly neglected since December.
Today I met up with yet another knitting friend to hit the Fremont Sunday Market, stop by the yarn store, and knit while having some lunch. And thanks to that, my socks got finished.

oh i love those!
Pretty socks, I love that colorway! I also need an easy project to go with the difficult ones, so I'm thinking of starting some non-fancy man socks. They are big but don't take much brain power.
Love the socks!
SO I just need to ask about the quality time with iphone and knitting - I have time with one or the other, but how do you put them together???
Also, you may be the only person I've heard of besides my grandmother who like roller derby - she used to sit, cheering for Skinny Minnie Miller, cigarette dangling between lips, while she crocheted stunning heirloom lace tablecloths...
