Knitting with beads, and a new design
Tonight the PhD knitting girls had a workshop called Knitting with Beads. In the workshop we taught "bead knitting", "beaded knitting", and "slip stitch beading".
I also came up with my very own design.
My designed piece (left) is called Beaded Square Cat Toy. Jessica's design (right) is called Square Beaded Cat Toy.
I might publish the pattern soon, I'm thinking about it.

Ah, but the question is whether the cats perfer beaded square or square beaded. Sounds like a fun worshop too.
Woohaha, nice.
I'm not even going to try to top these comments here. ;)
Instead, you can show me how it's done in a few weeks..
Happy knittin!
Ooo, nice - now I wanna do some bead knitting! Actually, I've been wanting to for a while, but, um, 6011 other WIPs are in line first. But I have beads ready to be knit and yarn ready for a beaded cardigan - unfortunately I still need the yarn to go with the beads and beads to go with the yarn, but never mind, never mind, it's just another excuse to go shopping.
Oh, and George the Vast says he prefers your design to Jessica's. Sophie, of course, doesn't, but that's Sophie for you.
Not to rain on your design parade here, but wouldn't the cats choke on the beads? Maybe they're cat toys for people with fake cats...
Sounds like you've been having lots of fun!
Good Luck!
Fake cats? Now there's an idea...
Actually my cats have been playing with the original swatch (from a few weeks ago) and haven't gotten any beads off it yet.
Also from looking at commercial toys it seems they're not concerned too much about the cats choking. There are little bells and bead eyes, and all kinds of things.
