A little bit about me, for my future SP or anyone else that cares

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high-end/natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?

I wouldn't say I'm a yarn snob. I like using really nice yarns - especially Noro - and I love the Hipknits silk my SP sent. I do use cheaper yarns too, because I knit for others that won't/don't handwash (babies, boys, my teenage sister).

2. Do you spin? Crochet?

Yes and yes!

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)

Nope. And I hope to have a cat very soon, so she/he can get her/his hair all over my yarn. ;)

4. How long have you been knitting?

I learned when I was 6 and have been knitting on and off, but I've been knitting pretty much constantly for a year.

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
I have a Knitpicks one that can only be emailed and not linked to...

6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)

Citrus, with grapefruit being especially high up there, and coconut.

7. Do you have a sweet tooth?

Yup. Marzipan is my favorite.

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?

Spinning and crochet, recently getting into dyeing pretty heavily. I also used to do some beading, although I don't much anymore. I'd like to learn to sew.

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)

I listen to most music as MP3s on my iPod. I like more of the metal/alternative/industrial genres, but I also like Fiona Apple and a few 'different' ones. I'm open to pretty much anything except rap/R&B.

10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer?

Blue blue blue! I love blue. I also like silver and purple.

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?

I live alone and am looking to add a cat or kitten to my family. (But please don't send one, SP, I don't know how it would hold up in the mail.) I have 4 fish.

12. What are your life dreams?

I always said I wanted to win the Nobel Prize before I die. I'd also like to travel Europe some more and swim at the Great Barrier Reef.

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?

I love Malabrigo, Manos, and some of the Noro colorways. I'm also lovin' this Hipknits silk from my SP4.

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?

I'm not a big fan of most novelty yarns, but if it was silver and blue I might change my mind.

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?

Socks! Also tanks/tees, although during the winter that will change.

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?

I knit a lot of different items, from scarves to socks to sweaters. I just knit things that I think or pretty, or if I want to learn a technique.

17. What are you knitting right now?

Check the progress icons on the sidebar.

But as I'm writing, I currently have on the needles: Brian's Hufflepuff scarf, Rogue, Zebra shell (which I'm designing), and I'm going to start my mini-Clapotis tonight cuz I can't resist.

18. What do you think about ponchos?

Ack! I won't say any more because I'm trying to be nice.

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?

All circular, all the time.

20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?

I love Addi turbos (and have them in my most-used sizes), and I use a Denise set or any of my random bamboos for other sizes.

21. Are you a sock knitter?

Yup.

22. How did you learn to knit?

My mom taught me when I was 6. Then I re-taught myself when I was in high school.

23. How old is your oldest UFO?

My Rogue, since last October or so, but I am currently working on it so I don't know if it counts. I'll finish it soon, but it's so hard to knit with a big wool sweater in your lap in 90 degree weather!

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?

My favorite animals are cats and fish.

25. What is your favorite holiday?

Halloween

26. Is there anything that you collect?

Nope. Um, yarn kind of. ;)

27. Any projects you want to make but haven't gotten there yet?

The lacy lavendar sweater in Natasha from Adrienne Vittadini Fall '04. With the cowl neck, not on the cover. I want to make it in light blue.
