Knitting News

Well, since my last post I've been working on many things. I made myself a ribbed hat with some yarn I recycled from a Goodwill sweater... I also started a scarf in the same yarn.

And I started some gifts. After my other little sister saw the Ravenclaw scarf, she requested a scarf of her own - red and black. And so I purchased some TLC Amore and started a black and red scarf. I'm knitting it longways with one red stripe about 1 inch wide down the middle, and a total width of about 6 inches. It should be done soon, and I'll post a picture when it is.

I'm also well on my way on the Slytherin scarf for Robb. For some reason it's going much faster than the Ravenclaw one did... More time? Addi turbos? Or just my love for the dark green/silver color combo?

I really don't know, but it almost makes me wish I was in Slytherin. The Gryffindor one for me is on hold until the gifts are done.

And last (but not least) the second incarnation of the Magic Stripes socks is on the way. I knit almost a whole first sock last time, and realized it was way too big. Now I'm re-making the first sock - finished heel shaping this morning.

Secret Pal Gifts, and the Ravenclaw Scarf

I haven't had time to post these pictures, but I got a GREAT package from my secret pal. Inside it was:

A little soap, a fishy notebook, glass star earrings, two chocolate fish, beautiful fish charms/stitch markers, a little spongebob tin, star beads and charms, stitch markers with star and fish charms, and a star patch

I totally forgot a picture of the finished Ravenclaw scarf I made for my little sister, so when she gets it on Wednesday (her birthday) I'll ask her to send me one so I can post it. It turned out well! I'm now making a Gryffindor one for myself.

I also had an exciting weekend, besides the knitting... I went to a friend's birthday party last night that ended with getting driven home in a black sports car at 2:30am by a cute boy. Yep, and adventure for me. ;)
