More yarn!

OK, I've ordered some more Knitpicks for more tanks/Tivolis. I also ordered some Wings on sale from WEBS for a sweater, but they called today to say it's sold out. :(

Oh well. I have enough to hopefully keep me busy while the BF is away for July, and end up with some lovely FOs in the process. I should have my yarn for the X-back soon. Yesterday I got the receipt for it. Yeah, very nice, send me a piece of paper telling how much you charged me for the yarn, and have it arrive before the yarn does. It was mildly annoying. (Hey, I'm impatient!)

The Tivoli is done - and I'll hopefully get pictures of it on tomorrow - planning to wear it. :D

And now for the pictures.

Here's my finished Soleil, it's at a funny angle in the picture, but that's the only way I could get the whole thing to fit.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It fits quite well, although the waist is a little too loose. However since it's knit bottom up I'm just wearing it as is - it's comfy and looks fine.

I also took a picture of the progress on my Tivoli, and since it's basically a close up shot of my chest (wearing said Tivoli, of course) I debated posting it. But then I decided that after I bothered taking the picture and uploading it and everything - which included my camera batteries going out and having to recharge, I'll just post it. You've been warned.

Yay!

It's a lot of work to put all 220 stitches of your WIP onto a piece of scrap yarn and try it on. In fact, when everything turns out well you think (or at least I think) why did I bother? That was knitting time wasted! I guess if it didn't work maybe you would appreciate it more.

I'm at the point where I start waist shaping for Tivoli and, needless to say, it fits very well. Surprisingly well. So well that I wonder if grumperina is onto something with those weird measurements. ;)

My knitting mojo is back!

Only a couple of short weeks ago I couldn't think of anything to knit and thus started a sock. A problem no longer!

I'm making much progress on my Tivoli T - almost ready to start waist decreases! (thanks grumperina!) and I just ordered yarn for knitty's ribbon x-back. As you may have noticed I'm becoming obsessed with knitting tank tops and other T-shirt like things. It was on sale, it was blue! I couldn't help it.

So after an awful experience with a certain online yarn store before, I swore never to order from them again. But since I found this yarn on sale and a free shipping code I decided to give them one more chance. Hopefully they will redeem themselves this time.

I'll get much belated pictures of Soleil and the Tivoli progress as soon as I get home - a place I haven't been much lately. ;)

How to get a package opened by customs

I bought some Addis on eBay, and knew they would be shipped from outside the US. The shipping was actually extremely fast - they arrived yesterday! Well, on the customs form the items were listed as "needles new".

If I was an uptight person that cared what my postal carrier thought of me, I might be mad. But since I'm happy-go-lucky me I was just very amused. I can't think of many better ways to guarantee that customs will open your package. Luckily it was just a padded envelope secured with string, so that would have been very easy for them.

In other news: Tivoli is on the needles - round 10 just completed. :)

My SP package

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Here it is, as I promised!

The items from top to bottom, left to right:

Rowan chunky print yarn, a lovely card
two lip glosses, Colinette yarn (I love the colors!)
bracelet with blue metal oOos
plastic star bead bracelet, blue glow star, vanilla tea, chocolate

Thanks SP for a lovely package!

I'd also like to add that the box itself was quite nice. It was wrapped in brown paper (like the Mary Poppins song!) and on the box itself were many happy messages. My SP even pointed out that the packaging was recycled - maybe a clue to her identity. I'm all for recycling, SP, so I appreciate it! I even worked at a recycling center when I was younger. Also there was pretty purple tissue paper in the box. Unfortunately after my frenzied opening, it didn't look quite as beautiful, so I didn't photograph it. ;)

Goodies in the mail!

I got my order from Knitpicks with the Shine for my T-shirt on Tuesday night. I swatched and got my gauge, so now I just have to wait for my pattern and I'll be off on that.

Then yesterday there was a package from my lovely SP - yay! She sent me chocolate and vanilla tea and two lovely skeins of yarn, plus some cute star jewelry. I'll post pictures later. I couldn't take any cuz I was running out the door when I got the package and only had time to rip it open and see what I got (hey, I couldn't wait!) I'll try to remember to take pics tonight so I can post them tomorrow.

Waiting...

Well, I ordered my Knitpicks Shine (in River) for the T-shirt. I've been in kind of a knitting slump recently - I can't figure out what to knit. Currently I've got a sock on the needles, which is progressing nicely. I'm waiting for the Shine so I can swatch and get my T-shirt going, since that's more of a summery project.

The socks (Friday Harbor from Knitting on the Road) are really nice - but require a bit more thinking than other things. This weekend I cast on for a garter charity blanket just so I would have something to knit while watching Alias DVDs. It's getting kinda pathetic.

I'm very excited by this T-shirt - so I hope the yarn is there when I get home today. :)
